A country built on clean energy, entering its solar era.
Costa Rica generates over 98% of its electricity from renewable sources, but solar represents less than 1% of installed capacity. Rising demand, thermal cost volatility, and new procurement rounds are creating a defined pipeline for utility-scale solar development.
The national utility has tendered over 400 MW of solar capacity since 2023, with additional rounds expected. Cooperatives serving over 250,000 customers are actively seeking generation partners to reduce dependence on volatile wholesale purchases.
Build the right to build, then build.
SolarGente applies a capital-efficient development model.
We secure strategic land positions and offtaker relationships first, then invest in permitting and engineering only when revenue is contractually confirmed.
This protects investor capital while maintaining a pipeline ready to convert when opportunities materialize.
Land options before permits.
Offtaker before capital expenditure.
Optionality across regulatory scenarios.
European experience. Costa Rican commitment.
